Anxiety and depression ยท Wooster, Ohio

Anxiety and depression therapy, built around your life.

Sometimes it arrives on its own. Often it comes with a loss, a transition, a stretch of burnout, or a baby. Either way, it is treatable, and you do not need a diagnosis to start.

Adults 18 and up. In person at 2098 Portage Rd, Suite 325, or by telehealth for clients located in Ohio.

If this sounds familiar

You might be feeling like this

  • You are running on empty and cannot remember the last time you felt like yourself.
  • Your mind will not stop, especially at night.
  • Work, school or a new role is swallowing you, and everyone thinks you are fine.
  • You have a lot going for you and you still feel low, and that makes you feel worse.

The approach

How I work with anxiety and depression

I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which looks at the connections between your thoughts, emotions and actions, and on skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy for managing intense emotions and staying steady when things get hard. My approach is strength-based and solution-focused: we start with what is already working and build from there.

A lot of the anxiety and depression I see sits alongside something else. A trauma history. A transition that looks fine from the outside. Burnout in a medical or first-responder job. College. The perfectionism that got you here and is now wearing you down. We treat the whole picture, not just the label.

I am down to earth, direct and open-minded, and I use a good bit of humor. You will know what we are working on and why.

What to expect

What the work looks like

  1. Find the patterns

We look at what sets the anxiety or the low mood off, what you do in response, and what that costs you. Naming the pattern is half the work.

  2. Build the skills

Coping skills for the spike, emotion regulation for the long stretches, and small behavior changes that add up. Practical, specific, and tested in your actual week.

  3. Reconnect with what matters

Values, strengths, relationships and the things that are yours. Weekly or every other week, and we review the plan together as you move.

Who I work with

This is for you if

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Depression and low mood
  • Adjustment to a transition
  • Medical professional and first-responder stress
  • College mental health
  • Perfectionism and burnout

Questions people ask

Before you call

Do I need a diagnosis to start?
No. If you are struggling and want it to be different, that is enough. We figure out the rest together.
What about medication?
I am a social worker, not a prescriber, so I do not prescribe. If you are working with a prescriber, we can coordinate with your permission. Therapy works with or without medication.
How often will we meet?
Most clients meet weekly or every other week. As you move toward your goals we review progress and adjust the frequency together.
